MetaWatch is a smartwatch. It uses Bluetooth to connect the watch to a smartphone. Once connected, the watch can display information from the phone including caller names, weather information, stock prices, calendar appointments or it can work as a remote control to play music from your smartphone. There are new features being developed continuously to enrich the MetaWatch experience.
The MetaWatch display is fully-reflective and uses no polarizers. It reflects whatever is above it. So under certain lighting conditions (light colored ceilings with no direct light), the display will be faint. And under other lighting conditions (darker ceilings or ceilings with direct lighting), it will be spectacular.
Our dependency on smartphones comes with a social cost. We spend more and more of our time interacting with a screen versus interacting with one another. “Art of the Glance” romanticizes our stylistic approach to address this problem by embracing a casual and friendly view toward your digital life. It is a social solution, a personal behavior “patch” aiming to ease the obvious “mobile checking-in dependency “and allowing you to keep your smartphone in your pocket or handbag. Art of the glance references a style, a consciousness and a courtesy to others while staying close to all things “meta” – all things related to the digital flow of your life.
